Job summary

Jobtailor in Houston, TX seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily operations and coordinate with customers, vendors, and the team to meet all commitments.

You will ensure adherence to GXO quality policies, establish procedures for quality objectives, and guide supervisors on personnel, quality and safety. You will hire, train, develop and appraise staff, while driving continuous improvement and safe, compliant practices.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience in logistics or operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field.
• 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
• Experience in AS9100 or ISO environments.
• Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement knowledge.
• Experience in warehousing or 3PL.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to enforce procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
• Demonstrate an understanding of GXO’s quality policies; establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives
• Provide guidance to supervisors with respect to personnel, quality and safety
• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively
• Make recommendations on programs to improve operations
• Handle equipment and coordinate all maintenance needs with the maintenance team
• Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner
• Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other pertinent standards/regulations

Requirements

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
• Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field (if you also have)

• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment (if you also have)
• Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience (if you also have)
