Job summary

La-Z-Boy is seeking a Warehouse Assistant Manager in Houston, TX to support daily warehouse operations across inbound and outbound teams. You will help plan workloads, supervise staff, ensure safety, and maintain quality while coordinating with the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, 3+ years in warehousing with supervisory experience, and proficiency in Warehouse Management systems and MS Office. A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
At least 3 years of warehouse experience.
At least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably within a warehouse environment.
Experience with Warehouse Management inventory type systems.
Able to perform basic arithmetic operations and word problems.
Knowledge of warehouse equipment safety (e.g., stretch wraps, PPE, power tools).
Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
Proficient in MS Office.
Able to pass a drug and background check.

Responsibilities

Assists the Warehouse Manager in planning daily workloads for inbound and outbound teams.
Direct and coordinate activities of employees handling receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, and loading of trucks.
Interviews, hires, trains, and coaches warehouse staff.
Oversees daily workflow and ensures alignment with safety and quality standards.
Provide backup coverage when the Warehouse Manager is absent.
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors and increase productivity.
Maintain orderly and safe working conditions and equipment.
