Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned Midwest retailer, is seeking an Operations Supervisor for 2nd shift to plan and oversee daily shipping and receiving activities, coordinate staffing, and drive department metrics.

You will assign work, coach the team, monitor safety and quality, and partner with leadership to maintain competitive service levels across the distribution center. This role emphasizes continuous improvement and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership and/or warehouse management experience.
• Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Conflict resolution and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, trains, develops and maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet daily operational goals.
• Identify high potential team members for development opportunities and succession planning.
• Foster positive working relationships with team members and union representatives where applicable.
• Promote a positive, inclusive work environment that supports differences.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and practices.
• Establish and maintain DC scorecard metrics for productivity and efficiency.
• Train, coach and lead teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals.
• Safely operate material handling equipment and move materials as needed.
• Monitor performance metrics and deliver coaching, retraining and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and recommend improvements.
• Administrative duties related to production, shipping and quality performance.
