Job summary

Horizon Goodwill Industries, Inc is hiring an Assistant Warehouse Supervisor in Cumberland, MD. The role provides daily support to the Warehouse Supervisor and oversees processing staff, coordinating with multiple departments to develop vocational skills and ensure efficient handling of donations.

Responsibilities include supervising processing and shipments, maintaining inventory records, coordinating with salvage dealers, and preparing weekly production and budgeting reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate warehouse equipment.
• Proficient in MS Suite including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming donations and route for sorting, tagging and distribution to appropriate end user/recipient.
• Assist with supervising all employees engaged in the processing of incoming donations and daily shipments.
• Coordinate necessary shipments, including production of necessary shipping documents, other records and maintain statistical information on components of processing as required.
• Order all new goods and ship to all locations, and track inventory on all new goods and supplies.
• Coordinate with various salvage and recycling dealers for the sale of those items.
• Submit operational reports including but not limited to weekly production reports, forecasting, etc.
• Provide guidance in vocational skills development for assigned employees.
• Assist with recruitment, interview, and hire vacant core warehouse positions.
• Provide completed reports on various clients and core staff on a routine basis.
• Schedule processing personnel to ensure production standards are maintained.
• In absence of Warehouse Supervisor, will attend weekly meetings with WFD staff.
• Develop and submit yearly department budgets.
• Ensure the safety and security of Goodwill employees and Goodwill property per policy and procedure.
• Attend a minimum of two safety committee meetings per year.
• Other duties as assigned.
