Job summary

The Waterfront Rescue Mission is hiring a Warehouse Material Handler at the Waterfront Thrift Store in Pensacola, FL. This full-time role is up to 40 hours per week and handles receiving donations at the intake area, loading/unloading, and recycling per WRM guidelines.

You will work in a team environment, follow all safety standards, and may travel for training. Requirements include reading/writing skills and up to one month of related experience, plus a valid Florida driver’s license or a valid

Qualifications

• Read and write; up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license or a valid photo identification card and be insurable by WRM’s insurance carrier if driving is an essential function.
• Must be able to adjust timing and placement of donations as volume and frequency change during the day.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while assisting customers and donors.
• Greet customers and donors with eye contact.
• Accept donations according to WRM guidelines.
• Assist with loading or unloading.
• Sort donations into labeled Gaylord containers.
• Unload truck contents and place in designated area.
• Load designated shipments onto RDC trucks.
• Process recyclables.
• Empty trash containers.
• Dispose of unsaleable donations according to recycling guide.
• Practice all safety standards and procedures as outlined by WRM.
• Practice safe lifting techniques.
• Report safety variances to Manager on Duty.
• Some travel may be necessary for training and temporary duty.
• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Mission management.

The Waterfront Rescue Mission is hiring positive, highly productive, safety-minded and team-oriented associates to join our team at the Waterfront Thrift Store in Pensacola, FL! We have a position open for a Warehouse Material Handler in our warehouse. This is a full-time position working up to 40 hours per week receiving donations at the intake area. This position will also remove waste/recycled items and may process recyclables according Waterfront Rescue Mission guidelines.
