Job summary

Waterfront Rescue Mission in Pensacola, FL is hiring a Warehouse Material Handler to join our team. This full-time role handles receiving donations at the intake area, moving items, and processing recyclables in a safe, efficient manner.

You will perform loading/unloading, sort donations, dispose of unsaleables per guidelines, and help maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace. Valid Florida driver's license required; ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to read and write and communicate effectively.
• Must have a valid Floridadriver’s license or valid photo ID; insurable for driving if required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while assisting customers and donors
• Genuine customer greeting with eye contact
• Accept donations according to WRM guidelines
• Assist with loading or unloading
• Sort donations into labeled areas
• Unload truck contents and place in designated area
• Load designated shipments onto RDC trucks
• Process recyclables
• Empty trash containers
• Dispose of unsaleable donations according to recycling guide
• Practice all safety standards and procedures
• Practice safe lifting techniques
• Use proper tools for lifting merchandise
• Keep area clutter free and report safety variances
• Some travel may be necessary for training and temporary duty
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Mission management

The Waterfront Rescue Mission is hiring positive, highly productive, safety-minded and team-oriented associates to join our team at the Waterfront Thrift Store in Pensacola, FL! We have a position open for a Warehouse Material Handler in our warehouse. This is a full-time position working up to 40 hours per week receiving donations at the intake area. This position will also remove waste/recycled items and may process recyclables according Waterfront Rescue Mission guidelines.

Education andExperience

Ability to read and write and up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Floridadriver’s license or valid photo identification card and be insurable by the WRM’s insurance carrier if driving is an essential function of the position. Must be able to make adjustments to timing (speed of handling) and placement of donations as the volume and frequency of donations change throughout the day.
