Job summary

Waterfront Rescue Mission is hiring for a Warehouse Material Handler at the Waterfront Thrift Store in Pensacola, FL. This full-time role involves receiving donations at the intake area, assisting customers and donors, and moving items through the warehouse.

The position requires the ability to read and write, a Florida driver’s license or insurable status, and adherence to safety standards in daily operations. Some travel for training may be involved.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license or be insurable by WRM’s insurance carrier if driving is essential.
• Must be able to adjust speed and placement of donations as volume changes.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while assisting customers and donors.
• Greet customers with eye contact and a friendly approach.
• Accept donations according to WRM guidelines and sort into labeled Gaylord containers.
• Assist with loading or unloading and move items as needed.
• Unload truck contents and place items in designated areas; load shipments onto RDC trucks.
• Process recyclables and dispose of unsaleable donations per recycling guide.
• Follow all safety standards and use proper lifting techniques.
• Report safety variances to the Manager on Duty.
