Non-Exempt Position

Company: United Salt Baytown, LLC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport pallets of salt products from the packaging lines to the warehouse.
  • Storage of raw materials and finished products in an organized and orderly manner as directed by management.
  • Load, move, and/or receive product, raw materials, hoppers, and equipment to and from the shipping and warehousing area as directed by supervisor.
  • Operate and assist in the operation of mobile and packaging equipment.
  • Restack and wrap packaged product as needed.
  • Load trucks with finished goods and utilize scanners for accurate inventory management.
  • Maintain warehouse, work area, and yard in a clean and safe manner per plant and AIB/SQF guidelines.
  • Maintain plant records, logbook(s), check lists, pre-shift inspection sheets and other plant documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain product quality.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the leadman or supervisor.

Quality and Food Safety Role and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production operation through documented procedures and policies. Report and take necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Fill out reports and documents as needed.
  • Ability to speak/communicate effectively before groups and with colleagues.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, orally, or in diagram form.
  • Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry.
  • Employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Employee is exposed to a moderately loud noise level in the work environment.

Training:

Employee is to participate in all required training. Employee is to keep all of their training current and up to date.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle, and reach with hands and arms.
