About the job: Kent is looking for a Materials Handler to be based in Baytown, TX and support regional project site(s).

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labelling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Receives credit‑return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity, placing materials in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
  • Maintains material‑handling equipment by completing pre‑use inspections, making operator repairs.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee’s current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Over 5 years of experience working in materials handling.
  • Skilled in loading and unloading material safely within a warehouse facility or laydown yard.
  • Certified Forklift Operator.
  • Physically able to operate a pallet jack.
  • Experience in performing visual inspections to ensure materials are identified as per the Purchase Order.
  • Knowledge of planning, organizing, managing time and the ability to multitask.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skill: Microsoft office, SAP, and Site Sense experience a plus.

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Behavior/ Core Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Traveling is required as well as between various job sites.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Ability to bring the project to successful completion.
  • Ability to work for extended durations, holidays, and weekends when necessary.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace charter values.
  • Foster good relationships and team working ethic with sub‑contract teams to promote safe working practices and efficiency.
  • Experience of working in an integrated team from diverse locations required.
  • Some lifting; max 50lbs.
