Job summary

SMS Staffing is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler in Waukegan, IL. The role offers $20.00/hour for 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) on a Temp-to-Hire basis.

Experience in a fast-paced metal stamping environment is preferred. Responsibilities include moving materials, inventory control, and ensuring safety compliance. This position requires basic computer use and the ability to operate common warehouse equipment.

Qualifications

• Reading and comprehension of warehouse paperwork.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes.
• High attention to detail for accurate inventory counts.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
• Ability to operate handcarts, pallet jacks and order pickers.
• Proficient with computers to reference inventory counts.

Responsibilities

• Move material from warehouse to production lines.
• Conduct cycle counts in warehouse stock area.
• Move material from warehouse staging to stock.
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
• Wear required PPE (ear and eye protection).
• Other duties as assigned.
