Job summary

SMS Staffing is hiring immediately for a Warehouse Material Handler in Waukegan, IL. This role supports our metal stamping operations by moving, storing and staging materials and maintaining accurate inventory between the warehouse and production lines.

The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain a forklift license, strong attention to detail, and basic computer skills to reference inventory counts. 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Temp-to-Hire employment.

Qualifications

• Reading and comprehension of warehouse paperwork.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes.
• Ability to obtain forklift license.
• High level of attention to detail for accurate inventory.

Responsibilities

Job Overview for the Material Handler role: We are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Material Handlerto join our team in a fast-paced metal stamping environment. This role is responsible for moving, storing and spacing materials as directed. Maintain inventory for stock moved from the assembly departments to the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities for Warehouse Material Handler:

• Move material from the warehouse to the production lines.
• Cycle count of inventory in the warehouse stock area.
• Move material from the warehouse staging area to stock.
• Follow OSHA and Company safety standards.
• Must wear personal protective equipment such as ear and eye protection.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Reading and comprehension of all required warehouse paperwork.
• Knowledge of inventory control process.
• High level of attention to detail for proper documentation to maintain accurate inventory counts.
• Must be able to obtain license for forklift.
• Ability to use and operate handcarts, pallet jacks and order pickers.
• Proficient with computers to reference inventory counts.
