Job summary

Reliance, Inc. seeks a Warehouse Material Handler in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The role supports warehouse operations, material handling, order fulfillment, and inventory control in a fast-paced metals processing environment.

You will move materials using forklift equipment, assist with loading/unloading, and ensure accurate tagging and documentation while maintaining a safe, clean work area. A valid license and basic forklift certification are expected.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Must possess a Valid Drivers License.
• Ability to meet current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) quality criteria as defined by Federal regulations and/or company policy required.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.
• Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.

Responsibilities

• Generally responsible for basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks and/or customer vehicles, and help maintain the warehouse.
• Receive, place/return items into stock inventory locations.
• Pull and assemble orders based on reviews of work/shipping orders or other documentation.
• Tag material for proper identification and complete required documentation.
• Move material from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Operate yard truck to load/unload trailers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Sort material on rack, shelves, or bins by size, type, or product code.
• Spot checks on inventory and tag materials as directed.
• Report irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Restock material.
• Occasionally drive local deliveries in a non-DOT vehicle.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
