Job summary

AMERICAN FURNITURE RENTAL, INC. in Secaucus, NJ seeks a hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead daily operations, coordinating prep, picking, shipping and delivery, while staying engaged with the floor.

You will build and coach teams, juggle inventory and ensure safety and quality, with a focus on fast-paced events and trade-show furniture distribution.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a furniture warehouse or equivalent operations environment.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain AFR certification.
• Budgeting, scheduling and KPI management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations: prep, picking, shipping, delivery.
• Lead by example and work hands-on with the team.
• Train, coach and rebuild warehouse and delivery teams with a focus on accountability and culture.
• Monitor quality standards and inspect inbound/outbound orders.
• Coordinate route planning with Branch Managers for efficient service.
• Lead weekly Operations/Sales cross-functional calls.
• Handle delivery issues creatively and proactively.
• Manage inventory triage and restocking acceptance.

The Position

As a Warehouse Operations Manager, we need someone who's ready to lead from the floor-not from behind a desk. This is not an administrative-only position. You'll be immersed in all aspects of our operation, learning the business from the ground up while making a direct and lasting impact.

We're looking for someone with:

• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
• At least 1 year of management experience in a Special Events/ Trade Show Furniture distribution center

What You'll Do

• Oversee and participate in daily warehouse operations: prepping, picking, shipping, and delivery.
• Roll up your sleeves and work side‑by‑side with your team when needed‑lead by example.
• Train, coach, and rebuild warehouse and delivery teams with a focus on accountability, performance, and team culture.
• Monitor quality standards and inspect inbound/outbound orders.
• Route delivery trucks in coordination with Branch Managers to ensure smooth, efficient service.
• Lead weekly Operations/Sales calls to align cross‑functional teams.
• Handle delivery issues as they arise‑creatively and proactively.
• Manage triage, inspect returned product, and approve inventory for restocking.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing a furniture warehouse strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership in team rebuilding and operational improvement.
• Forklift certified or willing to obtain AFR certification.
• Familiar with budgeting, scheduling, and managing operational KPI.
