Osborn in Indiana is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead day-to-day warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities, focusing on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate will drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, train staff, monitor KPIs, and ensure inventory accuracy while adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing with management experience.
  • Strong emphasis on safety regulations, safety training, and compliance.
  • Experience leading Lean/Kaizen activities preferred.
  • TPS or similar environment experience is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with urgency.
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of production workers and staff in day-to-day warehouse/shipping and receiving operations, including safety, quality, on-time delivery, and continuous improvements
  • Ensure all safety rules, regulations, and programs are followed; audit and address safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and personal safety violations
  • Monitor stock levels and shipments; enter inventory and shipment data into computerized systems and maintain inventory accuracy; respond to inquiries
  • Drive standardized work for the assigned area
  • Employ Lean and Six Sigma concepts; conduct Kaizen events; drive 5S and visual management
  • Train staff on new and existing assignments, machinery, tools, and processes per quality systems and standard work
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on KPIs (on-time delivery, shipments inventory, headcount), payroll approvals, safety, and improvements
  • Other tasks as required

Job description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations. These operations include shipping, inventory, and delivery. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency and ensure a safe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of production workers and support staff in day-to-day warehouse/shipping and receiving operations, including safety, quality, on-time order delivery, and continuous improvements
  • Ensure all safety rules, regulations, and programs are followed by staff; audit and address all departmental safety hazards, equipment and guarding malfunctions, and personal safety violations
  • Monitor stock levels and shipment orders; enter inventory and shipment transactions into computerized systems and maintain inventory accuracy; respond to shipment/order inquiries
  • Drive standardized work as applicable to assigned area
  • Employ Lean and Six Sigma concepts and practices; conduct Kaizen events; drive 5S activities and visual management
  • Train staff on new and existing work assignments, machinery, tools, and processes consistent with the organization’s quality systems and documented standard work
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on standard KPIs (on-time delivery, shipments inventory, headcount, etc.), payroll approvals, safety, and continuous improvement projects
  • Other tasks as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; management experience preferred
  • Strong emphasis on state and local safety regulations, safety compliance, and training
  • Experience in leading Lean/Kaizen activities is strongly preferred
  • Work experience in TPS/or similar environment a plus
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
