Job summary

The National Retail Transportation (NRS) seeks a Warehouse Manager to oversee all warehouse activities across shifts, ensuring effective inventory control and on‑time distribution for clients. • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Job Overview:

The Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse activities across shifts, ensuring efficient inventory management and on‑time distribution that meets customer requirements. This role leads a team of Warehouse Supervisors, drives continuous improvement in operational processes, and maintains close, proactive communication with the client management team. Success in this role requires strong leadership, a sharp focus on operational efficiency, and the ability to implement strategies that improve performance across the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

• Strategically oversee warehouse operations performance in line with company policy and vision.
• Maintain a big‑picture perspective on operational goals and demands, prioritizing workloads across shifts.
• Optimize operations for efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Plan workloads appropriately and evaluate outcomes.
• Manage facility space utilization and recommend improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Align labor with building needs to maximize KPI performance.

Team Management

• Lead a team of Warehouse Supervisors to ensure effective, consistent operations management.
• Coach, train, and motivate employees toward excellence.

Safety and Compliance

• Enforce shipping, handling, safety, and security protocols across the facility.
• Maintain a safe work environment by fostering a culture of safety, including regular safety meetings.

Performance and Reporting

• Monitor and manage KPIs against customer expectations.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Enhance service quality through proven process‑improvement and continuous‑improvement methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a management role, preferably within a warehouse or 3PL environment.
• Proven success in process improvement and KPI management.
• Experience with Retail compliance requirements.
• Experience with continuous‑improvement tools and methodologies that drive customer fulfillment, quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Strong leadership and large‑team management capabilities.
• Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Supervisory Presence: Regular walking and standing to oversee warehouse operations, inspect inventory, and monitor staff performance.
• Manual Handling: Occasional lifting, moving, and carrying of goods and equipment, which may involve weights up to 50 pounds.
• Climbing and Reaching: Use of ladders or climbing equipment to access stored items or oversee operations, as well as reaching for items stored at various heights.
• Operational Coordination: Directing the movement of trucks and freight within the terminal or warehouse yard, requiring good hand‑eye coordination and quick decision‑making.
• Computer Use: Frequent use of computers and handheld devices for inventory management, scheduling, and communication, necessitating manual dexterity.
• Environmental Exposure: Work may involve exposure to warehouse environments, outdoor conditions, and all types of weather while managing operations in the yard.
