Job summary

Alamo Group Inc. in Pella, IA is seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead receiving, storage, and shipping, ensuring accurate inventory and safe, efficient operations in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with inventory/ERP systems (Epicor, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and outbound shipping of parts and finished equipment.
• Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation using warehouse management systems or ERP software.
• Supervise, train, and develop a team of warehouse associates, including scheduling, performance management, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Coordinate closely with the manufacturing, assembly, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure timely availability of materials and on-time shipments.
• Maintain organized storage layouts, optimize space utilization, and implement efficient material flow processes.
• Enforce safety protocols, OSHA compliance, and proper handling of materials (including forklift and heavy equipment safety).
• Monitor key performance metrics such as inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, order fulfillment rates, and warehouse productivity; drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee the maintenance and condition of warehouse equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Manage and documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and freight coordination with carriers.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and help identify cost-saving opportunities in logistics and inventory management.

ERP Responsibilities

• Utilize ERP systems to analyze inventory levels, transaction history, material usage, inventory movement, shortages, adjustments, and other warehouse‑related data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and utilize ERP reports and analytical tools to monitor warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, material availability, turnover, excess and obsolete inventory, and other key operational metrics.
• Analyze ERP data to identify root causes of inventory discrepancies, material shortages, inaccurate transactions, and process inefficiencies and work with appropriate departments to implement corrective actions.
• Use ERP data to support inventory planning, material availability, production requirements, purchasing decisions, and warehouse capacity planning.
• Partner with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to analyze ERP information and resolve material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and system/process issues.
