Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Warehouse Manager for a building products distributor in Fredericksburg, VA. The role leads day-to-day warehouse operations, including material handling, forklift operation, shipping/receiving, and delivery scheduling.

A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and cost control is essential for a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will oversee a team, supervise inventory accuracy through cycle counts, and collaborate with procurement and sales to optimize processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse management role.
  • Experience in material handling, forklift operation, shipping & receiving, delivery scheduling, cycle counting, order picking, loading & unloading.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Certification in forklift operation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and safe storage of goods and handling of all warehouse materials.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Manage delivery scheduling to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Supervise order picking processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee loading and unloading processes, ensuring safety standards are upheld and goods are handled properly.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Implement and uphold warehouse policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to optimize operations and meet business objectives.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
