Warehouse Manager

Location: Chesapeake, VA, US

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement warehouse operations system to ensure productivity targets are met and maintained.
  • Oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide variety of products.
  • Ensure that workplace’s health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control, ensuring accurate tracking, and minimizing losses.
  • Utilize RFID technology to enhance inventory tracking and management.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery as required.
  • Plan future capacity requirements and design layout plans for warehouse, considering the future expansion of the company.
  • Manage staff resources according to changing needs, including recruitment, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies, maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management, providing data on warehouse operations and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably within the Accounting and Finance industry.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, tracking systems, and RFID technology.
  • Forklift certification and experience in operating warehouse machinery.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
