Hillyard in Lexington, KY is seeking a Warehouse & Logistics Specialist / Backup Delivery Driver to support receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role combines warehouse duties with occasional customer deliveries to keep daily operations running smoothly.

You will coordinate with carriers, assist with customer service, and step in as backup delivery driver when needed, requiring attention to detail, dependability, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping and receiving, distribution, or delivery.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience picking orders, handling freight, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Responsabilités

• Receive, verify, and stock incoming inventory.
• Pick, pull, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare LTL freight and small parcel shipments, including required shipping documentation.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers using warehouse equipment.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams, including basic order entry and customer service support.

Hillyard, Inc. is looking for a Warehouse & Logistics Specialist / Backup Delivery Driver who takes pride in staying organized, getting orders right, and helping keep daily operations running smoothly.

If you have experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory management, or delivery, this is an opportunity to put your skills to work in a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a difference for customers.

As part of our Operations team, you'll help manage the movement of products from receiving and inventory through order fulfillment and shipping. You'll also coordinate with freight carriers, support customer service activities, and step in as a backup delivery driver when needed.

What You'll Do

• Receive, verify, and stock incoming inventory
• Pick, pull, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare LTL freight and small parcel shipments, including required shipping documentation
• Load and unload trucks and trailers using appropriate warehouse equipment
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other battery-powered industrial equipment
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers
• Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and assist with corrective actions
• Support cross-dock operations and assist with equipment assembly as needed
• Communicate with customers and internal teams, including basic order entry and customer service support
• Assist with employee training and warehouse process improvements
• Serve as a backup delivery driver, operating a 26-foot box truck with liftgate to deliver products to customers when needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines warehouse experience, dependability, attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership of their work.

• 2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping and receiving, distribution, delivery, or a related field
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience picking orders, handling freight, and maintaining inventory accuracy
• Ability to safely operate or obtain certification to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
• Valid driver's license with a strong driving record
• Ability to safely operate a 26-foot box truck with liftgate
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while supporting a team
• Basic computer skills, including email and order management systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Experience in warehouse operations, distribution, freight handling, inventory control, shipping, or local delivery could translate well to this opportunity.
