The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing production and materials planning, inventory management, operational analytics, and warehouse management. This role provides leadership support while ensuring the organization delivers accurate planning, material availability, schedule adherence, and inventory optimization.
Essential Job Functions
- This position will lead the warehousing and distribution functions to ensure materials and products are safely and securely received, moved, stored and shipped on-time.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities to ensure an efficient operation without delays.
- Establish departmental priorities, workload balancing, and resource planning.
- Develop and maintain planning processes, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor critical material availability while partnering with supply chain and procurement.
- Lead planning reviews and operational readiness meetings to identify and mitigate risks.
- Drive inventory optimization strategies.
- Establish and monitor departmental KPIs related to schedule adherence, material availability, inventory performance, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning processes, inventory management, material flow, and schedule execution.
- Manage departmental staffing and performance management.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for significant planning, material, and schedule issues.
- Support ERP, MRP, and operational systems implementation and optimization.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and operational controls.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in production planning, materials management, supply chain, operations support, or manufacturing operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing planning, materials, inventory, or operational support teams.
- Experience utilizing ERP, MRP, and planning systems in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
