Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a loading dock associate to hand load and unload windows and doors for outbound loads and internal transfers. You will stage products, meet safety standards, and train new hires while contributing to on-time deliveries across multiple locations.

The role requires 1 year of related manufacturing experience, forklift operation, and the ability to lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable environment.
• Minimum of one year forklift operation experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Hand load windows and doors onto trailers according to manifest and quality standards.
• Unload and stage windows/doors in correct dock locations per safety standards.
• Load/unload trailers at 150 cube/hour or greater per standards.
• Use tugger to move products from production lines and place carts in staging lanes; scan lanes on delivery.
• Train new hires on loading/unloading procedures per quality and safety standards.
• Present and discuss metrics on the T2 board and communicate with teams as needed.
• Troubleshoot dock issues (material shortages, quality concerns).
• Back up dock lead when required, including audits, manifest closure, and PvA board updates.
• Adhere to Cornerstone Core Values and participate in safety culture (STOP/CALL/WaIT).
• Support departmental 5S initiatives and attendance guidelines.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay: $19.00 per hour

1st Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am- 4:30 pm (Overtime on Friday when needed 6:0 am- 2:30 pm)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The loading dock is responsible for hand loading windows and doors for outbound customer loads or internal transfers between Silver Line locations. Additionally, the loading dock is responsible to for unloading windows and doors from other customer locations, moving windows from production lines to loading dock, and staging windows in proper lanes for loading.The specialist role is expected to be able to complete all jobs within the staging and loading areas of the shipping department.

• Hand load windows and doors onto trailers according to manifest and consistently to the quality and safety standards established
• Unload windows and doors and stage in correct locations on dock according to the quality and safety standards established
• Ability to load or unload trailers at rate of 150 cube/hour or greater according to the quality and safety standards
• Utilize tugger, when necessary, to pull windows and doors from production lines and place carts in the proper staging lanes. Scan windows to correct staging lane upon delivery
• Must be certified on PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) and Tuggers
• Willing and able to train new hires on all aspects of loading/unloading trailers consistent with the quality and safety standards established
• Must be able to present T2 board, understanding the metrics and issues to convey to the team (and T4 group if needed)
• Displaysthe capability to trouble shoot issues that occur on the dock (MIA material, quality concerns,etc…)
• Act as backup to dock lead when required including the completion of load audits, closing of manifests per standard work, update ofPvAboard, and other tasks as assigned
• Must be able to adhere to, and display examples of Cornerstone Core Values
• Actively participate in the safety culture, including adherence to STOP, CALL, WAIT, through hazard recognition/elimination and completion of at least 2 BBS audits per period
• Must adhere to and actively support departmental 5S initiatives
• Must adhere to Cornerstone attendance guidelines – Must not have any Written Warnings (attendance or performance)

Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• A minimum of one (1) year forklift operation
• Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
