Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Wakefield is seeking a Leads Person to support training of new and existing personnel, maintain a safe workplace, and assist with production planning for the packaging department.

You will work with the department supervisor to assign tasks, help ensure compliance with GMPs and food safety standards, perform cycle counts, inventory management, and coordinate with truckers and SAP for receipts and deliveries. Overtime and alternate shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed; preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Basic arithmetic and measurement understanding for packaging tasks.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram instructions; self-motivated and willing to learn.
• Leadership experience or training new employees; overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Must have basic computer skills and forklift operator license/First Aid training are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training of all processing and production personnel in the assigned department.
• Assist supervisor in updating training when equipment changes or new procedures are introduced.
• Help maintain a safe work environment and ensure GMPs and food safety standards.
• Work with supervisor to assign work tasks to department personnel.
• Load/Unload trucks and perform basic material inspection.
• Rotate/put away inventory and pull/set up materials for production.
• Conduct cycle counting and organize the Packaging Warehouse.
• Assist with safety audits and coordinate with trucking and production teams.
• Enter receipts in SAP and resolve discrepancies; communicate delivery documentation.
• Coordinate inventory management to prevent stockouts of ingredients and packaging.
• Assist with off-site material pull, on-site deliveries, and scheduling with trucking companies.
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality policies; perform other duties as assigned.
