Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, order picking, staging, and inventory control.
  • Lead and support a small warehouse team by assigning tasks and monitoring productivity.
  • Coordinate staging of doors, openers, and hardware for installation crews.
  • Manage fulfillment for wholesale orders including staging and packaging.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct routine cycle counts.
  • Enforce safety procedures and OSHA compliance.
  • Operate forklifts and oversee equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain clear communication with installation managers, technicians, staff, and customers.
  • Onboard and train new warehouse staff to promote safety and efficiency.

Job description

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating order fulfillment, maintaining accurate inventory, staging materials for field crews, and overseeing warehouse staff to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This role requires hands-on warehouse experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a consistent focus on accuracy, safety, and service.

Experience
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in warehousing, including inventory handling and logistics (door industry or construction preferred)
Preferred Experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience
Education
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
Required Skills
  • Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain through company-provided training
  • Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including material staging, inventory management, and shipping/receiving procedures
  • Familiarity with garage door components, track systems, and related hardware is a plus
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and inventory software; experience with handheld scanners or tablets preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to delegate effectively and collaborate across teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to lead by example, train new team members, and promote best practices in safety and efficiency
  • Valid Driver's License required
Work Conditions
  • This position operates in a warehouse environment and involves frequent physical activity.
  • Employees are required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift or move items up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.
  • The work environment may be subject to temperature changes, including non-climate-controlled areas during summer and winter months.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and moving mechanical equipment is common.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, must be worn at all times.
  • Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend shifts based on operational needs.
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods.
Physical Requirements
  • Repetitive standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, and kneeling required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Manage the fulfillment process for wholesale customer orders, including staging, packaging, and occasional delivery assistance.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct routine cycle counts, and communicate restocking needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handing equipment; oversee regular equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with installation managers, service technicians, office staff, and customers.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new warehouse staff, promoting best practices in organization, safety, and operational efficiency.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time at their sole and complete discretion.
