Job summary

Updike-Distribution-Logistic is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise daily warehouse operations in Phoenix, AZ. You will unload, store, pick, pack and ship products, mentor associates, and ensure accurate documentation and safety compliance. Forklift operation and strong computer skills are essential.

The role requires 3+ years in a warehouse environment and 2+ years operating a forklift. Expect a hands-on leader who can work in a dynamic setting while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years of forklift experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures and maintenance instructions.
  • Proficient with computers and warehouse systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Unload and load trailers, put away product, and pick orders.
  • Delegate tasks and mentor associates on warehouse processes.
  • Receive and ship merchandise per customer requirements.
  • Operate forklift and other equipment safely; use attachments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate receipt, put-away records and damage documentation.
  • Process paperwork and validate accuracy; locate and retrieve products for shipment.
  • Move pallets using forklifts and transfer to designated areas.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Work independently when supervisor absent; contribute to broad warehouse operations knowledge.

Job description

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for warehousing tasks such as unloading trailers, putting away product, completing appropriate paperwork, pulling orders, preparing product for shipment, loading trailers, general housekeeping, and operating equipment safely.

Delegate responsibilities as needed to associates, train and mentor those associates on warehouse processes

Receive and ship merchandise according to customer requirements

Transfer pallets to designated areas by use of forklift

Load and unload trailers by use of forklift or other appointed means

Maintain accurate receipt and put away records, including identification and documentation of damages, overages, and/or shortages

Locate and retrieve product for shipment utilizing system-generated pick list, validating for accuracy

Submit all paperwork to appropriate department upon completion and validation for accuracy

Lift and pull inventory from storage shelves, if/when applicable (up to 50 pounds individually and/or 70 pounds as a group)

Maintain cleanliness of warehouse at all times

Other duties as assigned by warehouse management

Broad knowledge of warehouse operations

Independent judgment at times in Warehouse Supervisor absence

Proficient with computers

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions

Single-double, clamp, and other specialized forklift attachment experience strongly preferred

At least 3 years experience working in a warehouse environment

At least 2 years experience operating a forklift

High school diploma required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required for extended periods of time to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch (by bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spine), maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling. The employee may be required to pull (using upper extremities to exert force in order to haul or tug objects in a sustained motion) or remove inventory from shelves, lift up to 50 pounds (group lift up to 70 pounds), raise objects from lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position-to-position, climb ladders and use forklift machines. Must wear goggles, gloves and vest when required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in a non heated/air-conditioned warehouse throughout all seasons and is subjected to outside environmental conditions. Workers are required to adhere to strict safety regulations.
