Job description

This position is from 3:30 pm to 11 pm, Monday to Friday.

There is a $2 shift differential.

Position Summary:

Warehouse/Production Team Leader coordinates activities of workers in aluminum plate saw processing, including pulling, packaging, and shipping customer orders. The Production Team Leader will perform the following duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of shipping, receiving and warehouse employees by performing the following duties.
  • Train employees on safety, equipment, and processes.
  • Schedule assignments and overtime (when needed).
  • Plans layout of warehouse and storage areas while taking into consideration: turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Reviews record for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine the adequacy of stock levels.
  • Traces the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Investigate and correct errors.
  • Run daily pre-shift meetings with warehouse staff.
  • Issue daily work assignments.
  • Coordinate changes in work assignments to handle changing priorities.
  • Participate in randomized job auditing.
  • Function as first-line employee relations.
  • Participate in and lead meetings with staff as necessary.
  • Participate and contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage implementation of procedural changes.
  • Manage execution of Production requests from internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements:
  • Possess effective communication skills which include verbal and written.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to learn mainframe program (Metalware).
  • The successful candidate must be flexible and be willing to work overtime hours as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
