Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Warehouse Lead for the Paris, KY facility. The role involves supervising warehouse operations, loading/unloading trucks, palletizing, and documenting work with inventory data. You will operate scanners, forklifts, and hand carts while upholding safety policies and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish work schedules and ensure they are implemented correctly.
  • Lead, supervise, coach and discipline associates as needed.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations and promotions decisions.
  • Oversee inbound/outbound shipments, checking paperwork and counts.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate records, inventories and space utilization.
  • Rotate stock and operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Support warehouse planning meetings and act as liaison with management.

Job description

Avantor is seeking a Warehouse Lead for the Paris, KY facility.

The Warehouse Lead will have moderate supervision, perform warehouse operations such as loading/unloading trucks, stacking bags, handling product, palletizing, etc. Document all completed work and recording inventory data; utilizing scanners/computers as necessary. Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of warehouse operations and promote teamwork. Operate forklifts and hand carts. Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly.

Applies sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching and disciplining associates.

Provides input into performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, associate development and terminations.

Supervises checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity.

Verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.

Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.

Completes all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.

Computes and analyzes daily, weekly production metrics.

Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts.

Maintains product locator system.

Ensures the optimal utilization of space.

Rotates product as appropriate.

Ensures the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.

Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.

Assists in maintaining warehouse security.

Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.

Attends warehouse planning meetings.

Acts as liaison between employees and management.

Communicates industry and brand knowledge to associates.

Performs other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to an industrial warehouse environment. The associate works near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment, and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases.

The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
