Job summary

Idaho Milk Products is seeking an Ice Cream Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations for frozen products at the Jerome, Idaho plant. You will lead a team of associates, ensure proper receiving, storage, inventory control and shipping, and enforce food safety and cold-chain standards.

The role requires coordinating with production and logistics to meet schedules, training staff on SOPs and safety, and maintaining accurate records. Swing shift, full-time, non-exempt.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2+ years in warehouse operations with supervisory exposure.
• Knowledge: cold storage operations, food safety standards, ERP and inventory systems.

Essential Functions, Duties and Performance Responsibilities

• Coordinate receiving, staging, and shipping of ice cream products and raw materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper rotation (FIFO) in cold storage.
• Verify documentation for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Assign tasks and monitor performance of warehouse associates.
• Train team members on SOPs, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Enforce HACCP, SQF, and FDA standards for food safety and cold-chain integrity.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse areas and ensure proper PPE usage.
• Conduct routine audits of storage conditions and documentation.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload trailers efficiently while ensuring product integrity and proper documentation.
• Support staging and movement of materials to maintain smooth production and shipping flow.
• Report and coordinate maintenance for equipment repairs.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and logistics teams to meet scheduling demands.
• Communicate inventory status and operational updates to supervisors.

Position Specifications / Qualifications

Education: High School diploma/GED or equivalent work related experience.

Experience: 2+ years in warehouse operations. Prior lead or supervisory experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with cold storage operations and food safety standards; knowledge of inventory control systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Environmental exposure to warehouses stored at ambient (60-70°F), refrigerated (35°F), and frozen (−20°F) temperatures.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for short distances on a regular basis.
• Subject to at least 92 dB.
• Lifting: up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist occasionally.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; delivering detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

• Stretch wrappers, forklifts, pallet jacks, dock doors, dock levelers, portable ramps, miscellaneous packaging equipment, personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, phone, hand tools and lifts.
