Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems seeks an Ice Cream Line Lead to oversee daily operations of an ice cream production line, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. You will lead line operators, coordinate activities, and support adherence to food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include supervising all stages of production, coaching staff, and ensuring accurate records while collaborating with maintenance, QA, and warehouse teams to address issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in food manufacturing with leadership on a production line.
• Knowledge of ice cream or dairy production processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all production stages on the assigned line (mixing, freezing, filling, packaging) to meet schedules and minimize downtime.
• Lead and train line operators, assign tasks, monitor performance, and coach as needed, fostering safety and continuous improvement.
• Enforce HACCP, SQF, and FDA food safety protocols; perform in-process checks and maintain accurate production/ quality records.
• Collaborate with maintenance, QA, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and communicate updates to the Plant Supervisor.

• Night Shift (10:00pm-6:30am), and as needed for coverage of employees and supervisors.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ice Cream Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of an assigned ice cream production line, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing. This role provides leadership to line operators, coordinates production activities, and supports compliance with food safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Oversight

• Supervise all stages of production on the assigned line, including mixing, freezing, filling, and packaging.
• Monitor line performance to meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper setup and operation of equipment for novelty and bulk ice cream products.

Team Leadership

• Lead and train line operators to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching as needed.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Quality & Compliance

• Enforce food safety protocols (HACCP, SQF, FDA) and company standards.
• Conduct in-process checks to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.

Communication & Coordination

• Collaborate with maintenance, QA, and warehouse teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Communicate production updates and challenges to the Plant Supervisor.
  

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Required: High School Education or Equivalent

Experience:

• 2+ years in food manufacturing, with leadership experience on a production line.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of ice cream or dairy production processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Excessive ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for short distances on a regular basis.
• Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete.
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis.
• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
• Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
• Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees occasionally.
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Lifting: Able to lift up to 50lbs on a occasional basis and up to 100lbs rarely.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Includes activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Subject to up to at least 92db's.
• Environmental exposure to warehouses stored at ambient (60-70° F), refrigerated (35° F), and frozen (minus 20° F) temperatures.
• Subject to environmental conditions as activities occur both inside and outside.
• There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
