Job summary

The City of Conroe is seeking a Warehouse/Stock Clerk to support warehouse operations and procurement functions under the Warehouse Coordinator. You will assist with ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock, ensuring timely distribution to City departments.

Responsibilities include coordinating with vendors, tracking orders, and maintaining inventory via cycle counts and reorder points. A valid Texas driver’s license and forklift certification are recommended; heavy lifting is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in supplies, inventory control, computer warehouse operations, and maintenance of records and receipts.
• Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license or higher required.
• Knowledge of computerized inventory control software and other Microsoft Office software is a must.
• Knowledge of fuel compliance records mandated by TNRCC.
• Skill in communication to contact vendors to obtain pricing and place orders.
• Ability to properly record and distribute inventory.
• Ability to operate all general office equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with vendors to place and track orders.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy.
• Maintain inventory levels through cycle counts and reorder points.
• Operate heavy equipment including forklift; forklift certification is preferred.
• Pull a trailer for delivery purposes.
• Maintain records in computer inventory systems.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial water and sewer fittings.
• Participate in on-call rotation for two weeks as assigned.
• Provide courteous, respectful, service-oriented interaction with City staff, vendors, and the public.
