Job summary

The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Storekeeper at the August YDC in Augusta, GA. Under general supervision, you will receive, store and issue materials, and perform clerical tasks involved in distributing supplies.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and one year of shipping/receiving experience, or six months at the lower level. Benefits include health and dental insurance, retirement, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and one year of experience in shipping and receiving.
• Or six months of experience at the lower level Supply/Warehouse Clerk 1 (FES010) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and transports supplies.
• Determines proper storage methods, identification, and location based on turnover and environment factors.
• Issues and/or sells supplies or merchandise.
• Marks items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
• Orders supplies to maintain stock.
• Packs and unpacks items to be stocked in stockrooms and warehouses.
• Receives and counts items, and records data manually or using a computer.
• Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
• Verifies inventory by comparing to physical counts of stock.
