Responsibilities

  • Performs basic grounds maintenance with water, fertilizer, and chemicals as instructed.
  • Maintains records of items received or distributed.
  • May drive to transport items between facilities.

Salary Structure: $17.11/Hr. +

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a Grounds Keeper/Warehouse Worker who will be responsible for performing tasks to receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment and supplies for the district warehouse operation; and for providing grounds keeping support for the district.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials or items which have been stored in the warehouse.
  • Compares information on requisitions, invoices and shipping notices to material received or issued to verify accuracy of order.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving to (and distributes from) storage areas by hand or using dolly or forklift.
  • Uses power mowing equipment and cutting tools to curt grass and trim weeds.
  • Applies water, fertilizer, and chemicals as instructed for proper grounds maintenance.
  • May dig holes or trenches as required.
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type and value of items received or distributed.
  • May drive vehicle to transport items from warehouse facilities to campuses or campuses to warehouse facilities.
  • Sets up equipment and furniture at campus locations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Some warehouse and grounds keeping experience.

(Above requirements may be met by an equivalent combination of education and experience.)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses/Certificates: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions, specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS/CONDITIONS

Most of the time is spent in a warehouse or outdoor environment. Temperature extremes can be either high or low. Mechanical equipment hazards.

EQUIPMENT
  • Computer.
  • Forklift, hand trucks and furniture dollies.
  • Uses hand tools.
  • Grounds maintenance tools, tractor operation.
MINIMAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

Frequent standing, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, manual dexterity, (all representative duties).

Inventory/Warehouse/Grounds Supervisor

SUPERVISES

No supervisory responsibility.

EVALUATION

Performance appraisal conducted annually.
