Job summary

Friedman’s Home Improvement in Petaluma, CA seeks Team Members for our Warehouse team. You will verify shipments, operate the forklift, stock items, and ensure accurate inventory. This non-exempt position supports a fast-moving retail operation with emphasis on safety and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instruction manuals.
• Experience in a warehouse or shipping environment preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and operate warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Compare identifying information and counts; verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Utilize inventory software and handheld scan gun to track products and shipments.
• Determine method of shipment and affix labels on packed cartons.
• Move items using forklift, stock picker, pallet jack; prepare stocking areas for incoming shipments.
• Observe safety procedures and report unsafe conditions; ensure accurate inventory.
• Support team with other duties as assigned by the manager.

Weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other recordsUtilizes Inventory database software and handheld scan gun to track products and shipmentsDetermines method of shipmentAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons, inserts items into containers, posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postageUnpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortagesRoutes items to departmentsExamines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specificationsMaintains inventory of shipping materials and suppliesOperates Forklift, Stock Picker, and manual or electric pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areaObserves safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.Ensures stocking area is prepared for incoming shipmentsAdditional duties as assigned by ManagerLanguage Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsComputer Skills:Knowledge of Database and Inventory software helpfulPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
