Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Service Center Operator C (SCOC) in Charlotte, NC to handle day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments using proper equipment. This entry-level role includes hands-on training within our apprenticeship program.

You will operate forklifts, complete shipping paperwork, and work with SAP work orders while maintaining accuracy and safety. Strong math and basic computer skills are required; prior similar experience is preferred, and dedication to learning

Qualifications

• Skills-based assessment covering reading, math, inspection, attention to detail.
• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Break down bulk bundles for customer orders.
• Package material to customer specifications.
• Operate sit-down or side loader forklift.
• Complete shipping/receiving paperwork and SAP work orders.
• Support on-time production and accurate inventory records.
