Job summary

The Vitamin Shoppe is recruiting for a weekend shift Forklift Driver at our Ashland, VA Distribution Center. The role runs Friday–Sunday, 7:00am–7:30pm with OT as needed, and pays $20.00 per hour, including a $2 shift differential.

Responsibilities include safely handling merchandise with RF scanners and various warehouse equipment, complying with all policies, and ensuring accurate picking and put-away while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate RF scanners and forklift equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and communicate in English.

Ashland, VA – Weekend Shift. The role is based in our Ashland, Virginia Distribution Center and is Full Time, Weekend Shift Forklift Driver position. The schedule for the role is Friday, Saturday, Sunday – 7:00am – 7:30pm (plus OT).

Compensation

The wage is $20.00. This includes a $2.00 shift differential.

Overview

This position, which may vary depending on specific job assignment, performs tasks associated with the receipt, storage, process and shipment of product utilizing Forklift Equipment (i.e., Reach Truck, Order Picker, etc.) while meeting safety, quality, productivity, attendance and behavioral Vitamin Shoppe expectations. Effectively and efficiently uses established procedures, tools, equipment (including RF Scanners), and technologies to complete transactions related to inbound and outbound processes within the Warehouse / Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

• Safely retrieve merchandise from storage locations on a daily basis using Radio Frequency scanning guns and picking labels
• Complies with The Vitamin Shoppe's policies, guidelines, and procedures as well as state and federal regulations, OSHA requirements in the storage, handling, and movement of product
• Pull merchandise from storage locations using Order Filling equipment
• Put merchandise away from Receiving to storage locations using a High Reach Forklift equipment
• Complete daily checklist for material handling equipment
• Ensure accurate picking/put-away of product
• Learn to be proficient in all put away functions
• Performs necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Informs Operations Manager or Lead of any problems and actively participates in process improvements

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience.

Skill And Ability

• Able to operate held RF scanner or other devices associated with Warehouse Management System
• Able to meet safety, quality, productivity and attendance requirements
• Able to do continuous lifting up to 50 poundsAble to communicate in English
• Able to work in a fast pace environment
• Able to work in a team environment
• Able and willing to work overtime when required
• Able to operate material handling equipment
