Job summary

thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services is seeking a supervisor to coach a warehouse team, ensure productivity, and meet production and distribution deadlines within budget. The role involves recruiting, training, performance reviews, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

The supervisor will lead by example on the warehouse floor near heavy machinery, coordinating tasks and ensuring timely communication with internal and external stakeholders. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
• Demonstrates the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience and successful past performance.
• Warehouse experience with forklift, packing and measuring.
• Must demonstrate leadership and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of metals handling for staging, processing, packaging, shipping is preferred.
• First aid and CPR training preferred.
• Exposure to safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices and sales functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet all production and distribution objectives and deadlines within the established budget.
• Teach, coach and demonstrate work activities for team members.
• Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary functions.
• Coordinate, assign, and review work.
• Direct staff on priority of work to be accomplished.
• Ensure team members receive required instruction in safety procedures and performance standards.
• Maintain timely, effective communications with customers and suppliers.
• Keep accurate records and perform administrative duties.
• Report accidents or incidents within 24 hours to the Operations Manager.
• Monitor working conditions to ensure safety and take corrective action as needed.
• Apply problem-solving techniques to resolve personnel and quality issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.
• Work on warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
• Meet TKNA employee attributes/competencies.
