Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Warehouse Technician in Houston to manage stock, order replenishments, and fleet-related duties. You will keep detailed inventory records, run reports, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely deliveries.

The role requires 2+ years in a warehouse setting, basic inventory control knowledge, and strong organizational skills. Forklift certification is preferred. This position offers growth, benefits, and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in a warehouse setting.
• Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
• Basic mechanic skills; ability to perform maintenance and non-routine repairs.
• Experience with computerized inventory systems preferred, but not required.
• Forklift operator certification preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient keyboarding skills.
• Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
• Assess inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
• Provide inventory reports to the purchasing and inventory control manager(s).
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with vendors.
• Maintain accurate, daily records of goods received and shipments made.
• Manage and maintain inventory system; facilitate upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or inventory control manager.
• Conduct frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
• Assist with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
• Operate a forklift when necessary (with proper certification).
• Work with the fleet management team to procure, maintain and repurpose fleet vehicles.
• Coordinate with the insurance specialist(s) to take care of fleet damages.
• All data entry of monthly fleet expenses.
• Available to assist drivers with vehicle needs 24/7.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
