Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a Mechanic II - Warehouse in Jonesboro, GA to support the district's Facilities Services warehouse operations. You will assist with deliveries, pickups, transfers, furniture setup, order picking, and loading/unloading, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, warehouse experience, a valid Georgia driver's license (CDL preferred), and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED certificate required.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
• Independent judgement with guidance from Warehouse Supervisor.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Docs, Incident IQ.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally; wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Warehouse department’s crafts including deliveries, pick-ups, transfers, discards, furniture setup, order picking, loading and unloading.
• Operates equipment relevant to repairs, installations, deliveries, pickups, and preventative maintenance (pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, ladders, hand/tools).
• Drives district vehicle to work sites and maintains parts, PPE, and inventory; restocks supplies and performs daily vehicle safety check.
• Performs other duties to support district initiatives.
