Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a senior engineer to design and architect a new warehouse setup for a large facility. You will plan the inner layout, product flow, and handling systems, leading a small team to deliver efficient space utilization.

The role requires senior-level experience in warehouse design, CAD proficiency, and SAP S4 Hana expertise, with a focus on lean processes and ergonomics in a fast-paced environment. Immediate start expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering or related field.
• Senior-level experience in warehouse design/optimization.
• Able to set up warehouse product lines as final decision maker.
• Proven experience in large-scale environments.
• Proficient in CAD/Drafting software.
• Proficient in SAP S4 Hana as primary system.
• Knowledge of databases (SQL, Tableau) a plus.
• Knowledge of PIT and warehouse equipment preferred.
• Specific engineering/technical items from past projects.
• Experience with slotting, simulation tools (Flex, AutoCAD) and WMS.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan the inner layout of a large warehouse transformation.
• Coordinate setup and optimization of new warehouse design.
• Ensure optimized functioning and maximize efficiency and space.
• Develop warehouse design by layout, flow, and handling systems.
• Apply lean concepts to streamline processes and improve flow.
• Organize and manage warehousing ops: receiving, storage, pick, shipments.
• Measure warehousing performance and implement corrective actions.
• Lead projects to design and optimize warehousing processes.
• Set up 1000+ new products and 5000+ part numbers.
• Join a three-to-four person team to layout the warehouse and lines.
• Consider ergonomics and efficiency in placements.

• Thisis a senior engineer role to design a new warehouse setup and architectworkflow.
• Theengineer will design and plan the inner layout of a very large facility.
• Severalother lines are coming in to combine and reshape the warehouse.

Whatwill you do?

• Responsiblefor designing and planning the inner layout of the warehouse transformation.
• Coordinatesetup and optimization of new warehouse design.
• Ensuringoptimized functioning of the warehouse and achieving maximum efficiency &space utilization.
• Developswarehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handlingsystems.
• Adoptslean concepts to streamline processes to achieve process flow efficiency.
• Organizeand manage (or control) warehousing operations, including reception, storage,order preparation and shipments according to SPS principle.
• Measuresand analyses warehousing performance (cost and service) and implementcorrective actions.
• Managesprojects to design and optimize warehousing processes.
• Setupnew product lines that will include 1000 new products and over 5000-partnumbers.
• Thisposition needs to start quickly due to timelines, and this person will be partof a three-to-four-person team designing the layout of the warehouse andefficient placement of lines and parts.
• Ergonomicsand efficiency will be considered.

Education:

• Bachelor’sDegree required.
• Experiencein warehouse design/optimization at a senior level.
• Ableto set up warehouse product lines as the final decision maker.
• ProvenPast Experience in large settings.
• Proficientin computer aided design and drafting software.
• ProficientSAP S4 Hana as this is the system of use.
• Knowledgeof Database systems (SQL, Tableau etc.) a plus.
• Preferredknowledge in PIT and Warehouse equipment
• Candidatesshould have specifics of engineering and technical items they engaged in thepast.
• Theyshould have specifics if they are a engineer and not a maintenance oroperations/people manager which is not the role.
• Slotting,simulation tools like Flex or AutoCAD, and WMS type specifics.
