Responsibilities
- Analyze current warehouse processes, workflows, and layouts to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Design and optimize facility layouts, including slotting strategies, material flow, picking methods, and storage systems using tools like AutoCAD.
- Conduct time studies, develop engineered labor standards, and implement labor management systems (LMS) to enhance productivity.
- Support the integration and maintenance of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), automation technologies, and material handling equipment.
- Lead the startup, commissioning, and continuous improvement of warehouse automation initiatives, including robotic systems, automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyors, sortation equipment, and goods-to-person technologies.
- Perform data analysis on operational metrics (e.g., throughput, inventory levels, order fulfillment) to recommend cost‑saving initiatives and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and management teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies.
- Develop business cases for new equipment, automation, or layout changes, including cost‑benefit analysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, ergonomics, and regulatory requirements in all designs and implementations.
- Lead or support projects for warehouse expansions, relocations, or new technology integrations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on project outcomes and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution center, or logistics operations; experience in e‑commerce or high‑volume fulfillment is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar layout design software, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL), and simulation software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred), and continuous improvement techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and project management skills; ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and present findings to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with WMS/LMS systems, automation (e.g., conveyors, ASRS), and material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, including occasional physical presence on the floor.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or Project Management (PMP).
- Experience with ERP systems or supply chain software.
- Hands‑on experience with warehouse automation technologies (e.g., robotics, AGVs, AMRs, or sortation systems).
- Understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and ergonomics in warehouse settings.
Work Conditions
- Travel could be up to 10% of the time.
- Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi‑weekly basis.
- This is an in‑warehouse role; you’ll spend time on the floor as well as in the office.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts (day, swing, night) or be on call depending on operational demands.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, climb stairs/ladders, and tolerate warehouse environmental conditions (temperature variations, noise, etc).
Compensation and Benefits
The base range for this position in the posted location is $95,000.00 - $130,900.00; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
