Job summary

Qualifications

• No experience required
• Prior warehouse experience a plus
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
• Must obtain verification of non‑expired medical certificate as required by law within 30 days of hire
• Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
• Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years
• High School or GED - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and address safety concerns
• Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses and verify quantity and description
• Keep incoming orders stocked on shelves and report freight damage claims
• Prepare branch orders from the warehouse and ensure correct product is shipped
• Process shipments paperwork, ensure correct merchandise, and follow customer shipping instructions
• Operate machinery including forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machine when required
• Load common carrier and company vehicles
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment
• Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
• Operate delivery vehicles to make deliveries to/from customers, branches, and suppliers
• Inspect vehicles and complete daily inspection report
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report repairs
• Follow DOT and local driving laws and regulations
• Load/unload vehicle and ensure correct materials for each order
• May assist in preparing orders for delivery
• Ensure delivery documentation is complete and signed by customer
• Pick up material returns and verify condition and quantities
• May be required to perform other duties including counter sales and customer support
