Job Description – Warehouse Coordinator

Department: Warehouse
Reports To: Warehouse Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Coordinator supports the efficient flow of materials, parts, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for inventory accuracy, material movement, picking and kitting, ERP transactions, cycle counting, and coordinating material needs with production and other departments. The Warehouse Coordinator is a hands-on, non-supervisory position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently resolve routine inventory and material-flow issues. The position works closely with Warehouse, Assembly, Fabrication, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure materials are available where and when they are needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pick, stage, and kit purchased and manufactured parts for production according to picking lists, work orders, and production requirements.
  • Move materials and finished goods safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
  • Perform accurate inventory transactions using the company's ERP system, including material movements, receipts, transfers, issues, and inventory adjustments as authorized.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Research and help resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, incorrect locations, and material availability issues.
  • Monitor material requirements and communicate shortages or potential production disruptions to the appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate with Assembly, Fabrication, Purchasing, Receiving, Welding and other departments to support production schedules and material requirements.
  • Assist with receiving incoming materials, verifying quantities, identifying discrepancies, and properly locating materials within the warehouse.
  • Support outbound shipping activities, including picking, staging, packaging, and preparing parts or finished products for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure materials are properly labeled and stored.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Assist with identifying obsolete, excess, damaged, or incorrectly stored inventory.
  • Use ERP data and inventory information to research issues and support accurate material planning and warehouse operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, organization, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse and material storage areas in accordance with 5S expectations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to use ERP or warehouse management systems to perform inventory transactions and research inventory information.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to work with electronic records, reports, and inventory data.
  • Ability to read and understand picking lists, work orders, part numbers, inventory reports, and related manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve routine inventory discrepancies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with employees across multiple departments without having direct supervisory authority.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Forklift and material handling experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory control, shipping/receiving, material handling, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience using an ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management system preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds or more with appropriate assistance or equipment.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and perform other physical activities associated with warehouse and material handling work.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after completing required training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The employee may be exposed to moving equipment, forklift traffic, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
