Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Clerk in Pullman, Illinois. The position offers hourly pay of $20.95 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential.

This role includes on-the-job paid training and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of clerical or warehouse experience; forklift experience and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities with clerks and other stakeholders as needed.
• Update area/shift metrics using the location's WMS system.
• Generate reports or memos on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
• Perform floor duties and assist with administrative tasks.
• Maintain filing systems and documents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year or more clerical or warehouse experience preferred
• One (1) year or more experience operating forklift equipment preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates customer service skills.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities with clerks from other floor areas, the customer and/or other suppliers as needed.
• Using the location's WMS system updates area or shift metrics as needed.
• Generates daily, weekly or monthly reports, memos, and summaries often of a technical and/or confidential nature.
• Floor work and additional duties as assigned.
• Performs basic administrative tasks for area or shift. Maintains filing systems and documents.
• Gathers from and provides information to floor employees in his/her area of support.
• Coordinates activities/meetings/communication for the specific area or shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned depending on area supported or if location specific.
