Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an on-site Warehouse Associate in Ridgeland, MS to support construction field activities. You will handle daily shipping and receiving, inventory control, packing and palletizing, and move items using forklifts as needed.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to follow safety rules, and readiness for irregular hours including overtime. You will work in a dynamic industrial environment and contribute to timely project logistics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Safe operation of hand and power tools.
• Ability to use basic measurement and inventory tools.

Responsibilities

• Selects and prepares daily shipments including pulling orders and invoicing for freight carriers.
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers orders to shipping areas or disciplines.
• Assists in loading trucks and unloading items from trailers.
• Inspects items for damage and discrepancies; flags incorrect/short shipped items.
• Packs and labels stock items; maintains accurate inventory records.

Job description

Perform onsite Material care, custody and control functions in support of construction field activities. Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Selects and prepares daily shipments which may includes pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines
• Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers
• Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers
• Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
• May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
• May operate forklift and other equipment - stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, scissor, etc

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site,so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testingand Fit for Duty
