Job summary

RAM Construction Services is seeking a dependable Building Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep, repair, and overall functionality of company facilities, offices, warehouses, and grounds. The role requires hands-on, mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently while juggling multiple priorities.

The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance, diagnose building system issues, and coordinate repairs with external contractors.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or trade certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of building/facilities maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on company facilities, offices, warehouses, and grounds.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and HVAC issues.
  • Complete work orders and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs and services.
  • Maintain building appearance and functionality indoors and outdoors.
  • Assist with office moves and facility setup projects.
  • Travel between facilities as needed.

Job Summary

RAM Construction Services is seeking a dependable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of company facilities, offices, warehouses, and grounds. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting facility issues, coordinating repairs, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company facilities, offices, warehouses, and grounds.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and HVAC issues.
  • Complete work orders and respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Perform inspections of facilities and identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services.
  • Maintain building appearance and functionality, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and facility setup projects.
  • Perform seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal coordination, salting, and grounds upkeep.
  • Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, fixtures, hardware, and other building components as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support emergency repair situations and facility‑related projects as needed.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical, vocational, or trade school certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or related experience
  • Construction industry experience a plus, not required
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • General knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders, email, and recordkeeping.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to maintenance needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely work from ladders and elevated work platforms when necessary.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
Working Environment:
  • Combination of office, warehouse, and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, and construction-related conditions.
  • Occasional after‑hours or emergency maintenance response may be required.
  • Travel between company facilities and project locations as needed.
Required Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screening
