Job summary

Edward Don & Company is seeking a Warehouse Associate to receive, stock, and prepare merchandise for shipping to customers in the Chicago area and beyond. The role involves operating forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker, meeting safety standards, and ensuring accurate pick and pack processes.

Work is Sun-Thu 6:00pm-2:30am with a paid hourly rate of $24.46. The position is full-time in a warehouse environment, requiring ability to lift 40-60 pounds and adapt to changing schedules.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker.
  • Lifts 40-60 pounds repeatedly.
  • Able to use RF/Voice pick devices.
  • Warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.
  • Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.
  • Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots.
  • Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.
  • Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.
  • Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.
  • Follow Warehouse Labor Standards, “Preferred Method Standard”.
  • Identify and report slot and put-away problems.
  • Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.
  • Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.


$24.46/hour


Sun-Thu 6:00pm-2:30am


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The ideal Candidate will have the ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift, ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time; ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements; and ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices.


Essential Duties


  • Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.

  • Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.

  • Drop merchandise for \"reserve\" to \"pick\" slots.

  • Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.

Qualifications

Education


  • Preferred qualifications are: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous knowledge of SAP, one year warehouse experience and previous forklift certification.


Experience


  • 6 months of previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred.

  • Material handling equipment experience preferred.

  • Reach truck experience a plus.


Requirement


  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must pass a functional capacity test.

  • Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.

  • This is a full-time position.

  • Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.

  • The position does not require travel.
