Job summary

The Employee Connect is seeking an overnight Warehouse Associate in Smyrna, TN to receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch goods while keeping SX.e ERP data accurate. This 12-month assignment is temp-to-hire and onsite.

Shifts are Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM, with pay between $15.50 and $17.50 per hour. Training may occur on a day shift initially.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years experience or training in warehouse operations
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
• Willingness to work an overnight schedule, Monday–Thursday
• Experience loading/unloading, picking/packing in a warehouse
• Ability to read safety rules and work orders
• Basic math and routine reporting skills
• Team player with self-motivation and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Process and unload incoming goods, inspect for damage
• Sort, label, store and organize inventory for space optimization
• Pick, pack and dispatch goods using sheets or systems
• Load trucks and consolidate freight for shipping
• Enter inventory data and log discrepancies
• Operate forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks as needed
• Contribute to inventory counts and maintain safety standards

Warehouse Associate (Smyrna, TN)

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee

Shift/Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Pay/Compensation: $15.50 to $17.50 per hour

About the Role

A fast-paced, safety-first distribution operation is hiring an overnight Warehouse Associate in Smyrna. You will receive, handle, store, record and dispatch goods, support the inventory team, and keep data accurate in the SX.e ERP system. This 12-month assignment is temp to hire.

Assignment Details

• Contract assignment, 12 months with possible extension
• Work setting: onsite
• Openings: 1
• Anticipated start: November 8, 2026

Core Responsibilities

• Complete shipments by processing and loading orders from customer orders, work orders and requisitions
• Unload, receive and put away incoming goods, checking for damage and discrepancies against invoices
• Sort, label, move and store goods on racks, shelves and bins, arranging storage to optimize space
• Pick, pack and dispatch outgoing goods using paper or electronic pick sheets, verifying product and quantity accuracy
• Load trucks for customer delivery and consolidate freight for shipping
• Enter data in the inventory system and document discrepancies in an error log
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers and pallet jacks as needed
• Assist with inventory counts and follow all warehouse safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• 1 or more years of relevant experience or training (high school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required)
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
• Willingness to work the overnight schedule, Monday to Thursday
• Experience loading, unloading, picking, packing or moving goods in a warehouse environment
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills and the ability to compile routine reports
• Ability to work in a team and stay self-motivated
• Attention to detail and a safety-minded approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience
• Experience with SX.e or another ERP system
• Experience with 5S practices
• Technical skills with Microsoft Office and Prophet 21
• Computer skills (training provided)
• Experience helping with physical inventory

Work Environment

• Training Monday to Friday on day shift
• Industrial warehouse setting
• Protective equipment may be required (shoes, gloves, eyewear)
• Warehouse equipment certifications may be required
• Shifts may vary or rotate; overtime may be required with little notice
• Regular standing, walking, kneeling, bending and climbing
• Dress code: solid colored shirt with 4-inch sleeves, solid pants or blue denim jeans
• Perform 5S (cleaning, organizing and sorting) as part of daily work
