Warehouse Associate/Shipping Coordinator
The position of Warehouse Associate is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.

Job Duties:

• Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
• Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list. Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record any discrepancies.
• To accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner.
• Enter quantity received against the purchase/production order in the computer system.
• Attaches identifying tag or cones to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Picks, assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers.
• Review all orders to determine if they were picked correctly.
• Preparation of all shipping documentation.
• Pack cartons into over-pack cartons for parcel shipments.
• Prepare pallets for shipping with stretch wrap, customer name, order #, and corner protectors.
• Accurately identify and count stock materials as listed on the cycle count list.
• Ensure warehouse work areas are organized, clean, and free of debris.

Requirements:

• Previous shipping experience
• Solid reading skills – must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
• Basic math skills and reasoning skills.
• Ability to understand and execute instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• General understanding of the warehouse and footprint.
• Operate inventory control equipment, i.e., bar-coding equipment, handheld devices.

Nice to have Requirements:

• Certification of power-truck equipment (Reach truck, order picker, walkie rider/power pallet jack, pallet jack, sit down).
• Hazmat shipping certification (IATA, IDMG, 49CFR).
• Proficient with Excel / Word.
• Experience in handling export orders.

Temporary to Hire

When permanent this is a Union position.

Monthly dues of $27.

There is also a one-time initiation fee of $100 that is deducted in two parts of $50 the first two paychecks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb a ladder
• Must be able to stand long periods of time, lift, pull and push up to 60 lbs.
• Must be forklift (stand up) certified

Schedule:

Monday – Friday (occasional overtime)

5:45AM – 2:15PM

$20 per hour
