Job summary

Grand Canyon University seeks a CSLP student worker to support St. Vincent de Paul at Watkins Main Campus in Phoenix. The role focuses on warehouse tasks and bi-weekly public food distributions, with hours tied to service needs.

You'll lead volunteers, perform quality control on donated foods, assist scanning and sorting, and help maintain inventory and safety standards in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a GCU student with a support mindset for community service.
• Reliable transportation and a strong sense of responsibility are required.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to direct volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Quality Control: Inspect donated canned goods for expiration dates and sort them for distribution.
• Scan Line Operations: Scan and sort donated food items to route to SVdP departments.
• Inventory Support: Help manage Starbucks donations and other perishable items.
• Community Food Distribution: Support setup, operation and cleanup of bi-weekly distributions.
• Warehouse Operations: Use pallet jacks, sweep, and keep the area organized.
• Volunteer Engagement: Lead and direct volunteer groups to ensure a productive experience.
• Physical Requirements: Lift ≥50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment.
• Equipment Used: MS Office Suite; Closed-toed shoes
