Grand Canyon University seeks a CSLP student worker to support St. Vincent de Paul at Watkins Main Campus in Phoenix. The role focuses on warehouse tasks and bi-weekly public food distributions, with hours tied to service needs.
You'll lead volunteers, perform quality control on donated foods, assist scanning and sorting, and help maintain inventory and safety standards in a community-focused environment.
Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs. GCU maintains a partnership with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul located at 2120 S. 3rd Drive, Phoenix, AZ, 85003. St. Vincent de Paul provides services to the homeless, food boxes for the food-insecure, medical/dental care for uninsured patients, and housing/shelter for the unhoused. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of St. Vincent de Paul; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring). CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34CFR675.2(b). Per34CFR675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low‑income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community. As anFWS‑CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non‑GCU community members (i.e., local residents). Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
