Job summary

Hatchet Hardware is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Nassau, NY to support the distribution network. You will receive, organize, and prepare products for shipment between the warehouse and store locations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every step.

Responsibilities include processing shipments, verifying accuracy, and coordinating transfers with store teams. The role requires safety-minded individuals with the ability to work with inventory systems and operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1–2 years warehouse/logistics experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of basic inventory control and stock rotation practices.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification a plus).

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes incoming shipments for the warehouse and stores, inspecting for shortages, overages, damages, and quality issues.
• Verifies shipment accuracy by comparing packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders.
• Prepares outgoing transfers and deliveries to stores, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Coordinates with store managers and inventory control staff to fulfill stock transfer requests and special orders.
• Stages and organizes products by department or category for efficient retrieval and distribution.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and according to OSHA standards.
